Cold Resistance of Fluoro Silicone Rubber
Like ordinary silicone rubber products, the fluoro silicone rubber can endure very low temperatures. Since fluoro silicone rubber is a linear polymer composed of soft Si-O as the main chain, its low temperature characteristics are better than those of fluoroelastomers with C-C as the main chain. Among them, fluoro silicone rubber (LS-2370U) has better low temperature characteristics, and the brittleness temperature is as low as -89℃, while the general fluoro rubber is about -30℃.
Fluorosilicone Elastomer Has Excellent Weathering Resistance
Fluoro silicone rubber of SISIB SILICONES has excellent weathering resistance, even after 5 years of exposure, it still maintains good performance. Ozone is a very large amount of gas generated when the elastomer is aging, but after the fluoro silicone rubber has passed the dynamic or static test, no cracks or cracks have been found. In addition, fluoro silicone rubber has excellent mold resistance, physiological inertness, and anticoagulant properties.
Electrical Properties and Radiation Resistance of Fluoro Silicone Rubber
The electrical performance of fluoro silicone rubber is similar to that of ordinary silicone rubber, but it is particularly valuable in that silicone temperature range is wide which means it endures high temperature, low temperature and it resists humidity, oil, solvent, chemicals, and ozone. The radiation resistance of fluoro silicone rubber is not outstanding, but the radiation aging resistance is better than that of methyl vinyl silicone rubber.
Physical and Mechanical Properties of Fluorosilicone Rubber
Like ordinary silicone rubber, fluoro silicone rubber has relatively low mechanical strength (especially tear strength). Therefore, improving and increasing the strength of fluoro silicone rubber is also an important research topic.
Oil Resistance, Solvent Resistance and Chemical Resistance of Fluoro Silicone Rubber
Compared with methyl vinyl silicone rubber, fluoro silicone rubber, the linear silicone polymer has excellent oil resistance, solvent resistance, and chemical resistance. Even when compared with fluoro rubber, it has good oil and solvent resistance. After being immersed in the same medium, temperature and time, it shows excellent durability. It can be said that fluoro silicone rubber is an elastomer that is resistant to non-polar media at -68°C to 232°C. Fluoro silicone rubber has better resistance to methanol-containing gasoline. Even in a gasoline/methanol mixed system, the hardness, tensile strength, and volume change of the vulcanizate are very small. After a long-term immersion test for 500 hours, the physical properties hardly changed.
Heat Resistance of Fluorosilicone Elastomer
The high temperature decomposition of fluoro silicone rubber is the same as that of silicone rubber, namely: side chain oxidation, main chain rupture, side chain thermal decomposition and various compound reactions. Since the decomposition products can also cause the main chain to break, the heat resistance is usually worse than that of silicone rubber, and it has begun to oxidize and age at a temperature of 200°C. However, by adding a small amount of heat stabilizers such as iron, titanium, rare earth oxides, it can be significantly improved, and it has sufficient heat resistance even at a high temperature of 250°C. Temperature has greater influence on fluoro silicone rubber than silicone rubber, but less than fluoro elastomer. The service life of fluoro silicone rubber under the conditions of 150℃×2000h, 175℃×5000h, and 200℃×4000h has also been studied abroad, and the result is second only to methyl vinyl silicone rubber.
