Silicone elastomer blend is a mixture of high molecular weight silicone crosslinked polymer and D5, which appears a clear to slightly translucent gel or smooth white powder with light agglomeration. It can be dispersed in oil phase excellently.
Silicone elastomer blends have many kinds of advantages, as it can make the skin feel shiny, silky smooth and not greasy; it can enhance the beauty of volatile silicone oil; it can reduce the tackiness of formulations; and it can acts as a thickening agent for w/o and w/silicone oil formulations, cyclomethicones and other silicone fluids etc.
Silicone elastomer blend, as silicone personal care product, can be applied widely in skin care, hair care, and some makeup products. It can be formulated into w/o emulsions, water-in-silicone oil, and o/w emulsions and anhydrous products to provide dry smoothness and a light silky skin, non-greasy feel. In the actual operation process, this product can be dispersed into the oil-phase with simple mixing. But it should be processed in an enclosed vessel to prevent the cylcopentasiloxane from volatilizing when heat is used. For most silicone elastomer blends, the recommended processing temperature is not over 60°C.
SiSiB developed innovative sugar-modified & PEG-free silicone elastomer gels SiSiB® PC16468, which is a mixture of high molecular weight Vinyldimethicone/Dimethicone Ethoxy Glucoside Crosspolymer in an environmentally friendly carrier, which is either linear dimethicone or branched caprylyl trimethicone.
SiSiB® PC16468 is a transparent gel having self-emulsifying effect due to Glucose, which allows it to be formulated into W/O emulsions, W/Si emulsions, and O/W emulsions to provide dry smoothness and a light silky skin and non-greasy feel. This Sugar-modified PEG free Silicone Crosspolymer has a special structure without any PE safety risk concerns caused by polyether-based emulsifiers.
