Introduction

ADDSiL™ 8116 is an ABA block polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane. it is for solvent-borne coating systems with a medium reduction of surface tension.

Applications

ADDSiL™ 8116 can be used as a wetting agent in organic lubricant formulations for synthetic fiber processing.

ADDSiL™ 8116 can be added to organic components to improve surface properties.

ADDSiL™ 8116 can be used as an additive in organic textile coatings, it imparts antiblocking and softness.

ADDSiL™ 8116 also can improve the mar resistance of certain coatings.

The endblocking glycol contains an active hydroxy group, which is reactive with organic polymers such as polyurethane.

ADDSiL™ 8116 is chemically reacted in the network and increases the hydrolytic stability of the resin.

ADDSiL™ 8116 can be used directly or diluted before addition. It is soluble in water and polar solvents. It disperses in hydrocarbons and oils.

Recommended Dosage

The recommended dosage is 0.05~1.0% of the total formulations for permanent hand feeling; 2~6% for anti-blocking and 1~6% for resin modification.

The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.

ADDSiL™ 8116 can be used as supplied or diluted before addition. It is soluble in water and polar solvents. It disperses in hydrocarbons and oils.

Packing

ADDSiL™ 8116 is supplied in 25Kg / 200Kg plastic drum or steel drum or according to customer’s request.

Storage

In the original unopened packaging, ADDSiL™ 8116 has a shelf life of 24 months. When stored below 25°C, this product becomes hazy, and below 13°C, it becomes waxy. Warm to 25°C and mix well.
