SiSiB® WR1370 is a highly efficient aqueous, water-dilutable emulsion of reactive polydimethylsiloxane. It provides water repellency to glass wool (fiberglass) or stone wool bound with phenolic resin, similar to Wacker's SILRES BS5137.
SiSiB® WR1370 is a highly efficient aqueous water dilutable emulsion of a reactive polydimethylsiloxane which can be used to provide water repellency to glass wool (fiber glass) or stone wool bound with phenolic resin.
SiSiB® WR1370 can be used for expanded minerals such as perlite or vermiculite, or expanded clay aggregates.
SiSiB® WR1370 reduces viscosity significantly improving feed and dilution process.
Compared to other reactive polydimethylsiloxane emulsions, WR1370 shows particularly high thermal stability when sprayed onto substances during the manufacture of thermal insulation materials.

SiSiB® WR1370 is designed to be compatible with phenolic resin binders and tolerates without surplus of ammonia variation processing and formulating conditions.
SiSiB® WR1370 is compatible and can be blended with most phenolic resins without negative reactions or precipitation.
Compatibility tests are necessary for specific phenolic resins and additives before use.
SiSiB® WR1370 can be diluted with water.
According to the glass or stone fiber mass the addition ratio varies between 0.05% - 0.2% for stone wool and 0.1% - 0.3% (always depend on the weight of the dried final product) for glass wool.
The usage of SiSiB® WR1370 also depends on the required water repellency of the final product given.
SiSiB® WR1370 can be used to provide water repellency for expanded perlite or similar porous materials by spraying. The recommended dosage is 0.2% - 0.4 % for perlite, 0.1% - 0.2 % for expanded clay aggregates. To avoid an additional drying process, it can be sprayed onto the warm expanded material. But prolonged heating of the siliconized material must be avoided.
SiSiB® WR1370 is supplied in 200Kg steel drum or 1000Kg IBC tote.
In the unopened original container SiSiB® WR1370 has a shelf life of one year in a dry and cool place. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
