Silicone Water Repellent

All building materials are exposed to damaging environments, from water ingression to high alkalinity erosion. SiSiB produces a series of silanes, siloxanes and emulsions, which can be used for the waterproof treatment of various substrates: concrete, slate, sandstone, limestone and marble, bricks and tiles.

Silane and siloxane have excellent water-repellent properties, can penetrate and form a protective layer in the substrate a few millimeters deep, and will not significantly reduce the permeability of water vapor. Other hydrophobic treatments may block or seal pores and capillaries, resulting in less vapor transmission and loss of performance after surface abrasion. The hydrophobic treatment of silicone is durable, because silicones have good resistance to external influences, such as ultraviolet radiation, thermal stress, corrosive substances and microbes. This is due to extremely stable covalent bonds between the silane and the silicate matrix of the pores and capillary walls in the concrete.

Silanes used for concrete waterproofing must penetrate well into relatively dense concrete and resist the high alkalinity degradation in new concrete. The purpose of hydrophobic impregnation is to prevent the absorption of water and corrosive substances dissolved in the capillaries by using a colorless non-film-forming agent, thereby protecting the exposed external walls from moisture and related damage. Because the capillaries remain open, the substrate maintains its vapor permeability.

SiSiB® WR0412 is high purity, undiluted iso-butyltriethoxysilane. This product by SiSiB, a reliable silicone oil manufacturer, is recommended for the hydrophobic impregnation and priming of concrete and reinforced concrete in road, bridge and building construction.

SiSiB® WR0802 is high purity n-Octyltriethoxysilane; it is used as a surface modifier to generate hydrophobictity (e.g. concrete, glass, inorganic pigments, or mineral fillers). 

SiSiB® WR1290 is a solvent-free silicone concentrate based on a silane/ siloxane mixture and can be diluted with organic solvent. It is a high-quality general-purpose impregnating and priming agent for mineral and strongly alkaline substrates.

SiSiB® WR0777 silicone water repellent paint is a water-dilutable solution of potassium methyl siliconate (Potassium siliconate) developed to impart water repellency to a wide variety of natural stone and masonry surfaces.

SiSiB® WR2020, methyl hydrogen silicone fluid, is designed for hydrophobing treatment of plasterboard, brickwork and plaster blocks. This silicone waterproofing coating can be used for treatment for powders and granular materials to make them water repellent and free flowing, and to reduce caking.
