Compared to the same viscosity of dimethyl silicone fluid, methyl phenyl silicone fluid has higher coefficient of viscosity-temperature, lower freezing point and higher flash point.
The most commonly used high temperature silicone fluids are phenyl silicone fluids. When the phenyl group in the polysiloxane replaces the methyl group, oxidation resistance, thermal stability, and shear resistance are all improved. The phenyl group is usually introduced by a phenylmethylsiloxane or a diphenylsiloxane.
Phenyl methyl silicone fluid with high phenyl content by SiSiB, a relaible silicone oil supplier, is used as heat exchange fluid, dielectric coolants, base silicone diffusion pump oil for high temperature fluid and chromatographic stationary phases. The higher the phenyl content, the better the high temperature thermal stability. Refractive index also increases with phenyl concentrations.
Silicone fluids with low phenyl content are used at lower temperatures and are usually used as lubricants for key equipment. SiSiB provides a wide range of phenyl silicone fluids with different viscosities.
Low-viscosity phenyl fluids, SiSiB® PF8704 diffusion pump fluid, CAS No. 3982-82-9, 1,1,5,5-Tetraphenyl-1,3,3,5-tetramethyltrisiloxane, is designed for high vacuum pump; SiSiB® PF8705 diffusion pump fluids, CAS No.3390-61-2, 1,1,3,5,5-Pentaphenyl trimethyltrisiloxane, is designed for ultra-high and ultra-clean vacuum.
SiSiB® PC19816 (Phenyl Trimethicone) has good compatibility which can improve the performance of a variety of cosmetic formulations. It is often used in cosmetics and beauty products functioning as an anti-foaming agent, hair conditioning agent and skin-conditioning agent.
