SiSiB is worldwide leading manufacturer of organosilanes for over 30 years. SiSiB chloroalkyl silanes are bifunctional organosilanes possessing reactive chloroalkyl group and hydrolyzable inorganic alkoxysilyl groups. The dual nature of its reactivity allows it to bind chemically to both inorganic materials and organic polymers, thus functioning as an adhesion promoter, surface modifier and as a reactant for product modification. SiSiB chloroalkyl silanes include alpha-chloroalkyl silanes and gamma-chloroalkyl silanes.
SiSiB® PC5011 (3-Chloropropyltrimethoxysilane), SiSiB® PC5012 (3-Chloropropyltriethoxysilane), SiSiB® PC5021 (3-Chloropropylmethyldimethoxysilane), SiSiB® PC5022 (3-Chloropropylmethyldiethoxysilane) are gamma-chloroalkyl silanes. Gamma-chloroalkyl-functional silanes can be used as an additive in a urethane adhesive formulation. Their addition to the isocyanate prepolymer has no adverse effect on the viscosity of the prepolymer.
SiSiB chloroalkyl silanes modified urethane provides excellent adhesion to aluminum plates, even after prolonged exposure or in the high temperatures and humidity condition.
SiSiB chloroalkyl silanes can be used as a coupling agent for epoxy resin to laminate glass. The resin has good wet out on the treated glass fabric. Compared with epoxy silane and amino silane, the flexural strength and wet and dry tensile strength are significantly improved.
Chloroalkyl silanes by SiSiB, a reliable company, are also an effective coupling agent for treating polystyrene laminate glass fabric. After being immersed in boiling water for two hours, the flexural strength of these laminates remained unchanged, and the compressive strength was slightly higher than that under dry conditions.
Besides gamma-chloroalkyl silanes, SiSiB also provide alpha-chloroalkyl silanes, like SiSiB® PC5511 (Chloromethyltrimethoxysilane), SiSiB® PC5512 (Chloromethyltriethoxysilane).
SiSiB chloroalkyl silanes are key intermediates for other organo-functional silanes, like amino functional silanes, epoxy functional silanes and acyl functional silanes.
